Standard 10"x2.5" 6-stage GAC KDF Water Filter cartridge. Cartridge consists of one-micron filter pad, KDF55, KDF85, (Eagle Redox Alloy 6500 and 8500), GAC, ion exchange resin, and another one-micron pad. Removes hundreds of contaminants from your drinking water. KDF is mix of copper and zinc. KDF 55 and KDF 85 (or Eagle Redox Alloy) is a mix of these 2 materials in different proportions. Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and other dissolved metals are removed from the water by the electrochemical process. Chromium such as Chromium IV oxide will also be removed. GAC is a granular activated carbon, which is a crushed and then granulated carbon. Granulated carbon uses absorbtion mechanisms to remove many different contaminants from water. Ion exchange resin layer reduces heavy metals, such as lead, copper, aluminum, and also makes water softer. 6-Stage GAC + KDF Water Filter Cartrdige is a top-performing filter that fits many standard 10x2.5 inch countertop or under sink housings.
