This chess set includes our German Staunton Chess Set with ebonized boxwood and boxwood pieces matched with our Deluxe Walnut Chess Case. Unencumbered by fine detail, the pieces will stand up to the rigor of everyday play and it's an especially good chess set for blitz. Pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board and are weighted for stability. The king measures 3.25" tall and has a base of 1.25". The ebonized boxwood is jet black with no visible grain just like real ebony while the cream colored natural boxwood is the perfect wood for the white chess pieces. We include 2 spare queens for pawn promotion and a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.
