Arapaho Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) is an erect growing, thornless Blackberry that is the earliest producing of the thornless Blackberries. Arapaho Blackberry Bushes grow self-pollinating pink and white flowers that look like small roses and create large, sweet Blackberries with small seeds and ample juice. Arapaho Blackberries turn shiny black when ripe and are ready to harvest in early summer. The firm, crisp Arapaho Blackberries are perfect for eating fresh, making Blackberry Preserves, and even brewing up a batch of Blackberry Syrup. Arapaho Blackberry Plants grow to about six feet tall and four feet wide. They like full sun to partial shade, slightly acidic soil that drains well, and medium watering. Arapaho Blackberry Bushes are best suited for planting in USDA Zones 4 to 9, and can tolerate high heat. The two-year-old canes bear fruit, and the plants can be grown in the ground or in large containers.
